School Assistance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
My name is Maria Gei\u00dfler. I have an M.A. in Education\/Humanities and have been working at Hans Christian Andersen School as a school assistant since August 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The school assistance<\/em> program<\/em> was adopted by the Saxon state government as a “sustainable assurance of educational quality” in the Free State of Saxony.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSchool assistants support teachers in teaching, educating, advising, mentoring and supporting students and relieve them of extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The duties of a school assistant include, in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- Participation in the implementation of the educational mission of the school<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Contact person for students on site<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Participation in consultations with teachers, school management, parents, external partners and other relevant support networks<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Support for teachers in all pedagogical projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- In-depth and remedial courses outside or in addition to the timetable, but no teaching of lessons<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Homework supervision<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Conduct individual and group instructional activities, such as Support classes, all-day programs (GTAs), and individual support<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Supervision of classes throughout the day as well as on class and day trips, supervision of student body during breaks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Organizational tasks, such as e.g. documenting educational activities, preparing protocols, assisting with project planning, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Other tasks are optional and can be expanded or modified as needed at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
